Motivational Helen Keller Life Quotes and Sayings

People associate deafness, blindness, and other disabilities as weaknesses but that is not often the case, it certainly wasn’t the case for the famous American author Helen Keller. Even though when she was a child, she was described as a “Monster” by her family members, this was because of her bad habits, temper tantrums, and how she behaved. Although all of that changed within a year and she transformed fully. She became one of the greatest inspirations that the World has ever seen, she didn’t just change herself, she changed others.

Helen Keller was born on June 27th, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, America. She was born normal, with normal sight and hearing abilities. Her mother Kate was the second wife of his father Arthur, who was a veteran of the Civil War. All was good until Helen succumbed to a rare disease, the doctors referred to it as “Brain Fever”. She recovered from the diseases but at the cost of her sight and hearing abilities.

This did not stop her from the amazing accomplishments she would achieve. Her teacher, Anne Sullivan helped her and made her cope with the ability to communicate properly. Helen graduated college in 1904 and was the recipient of many awards and honors. She became one of the best humanitarians the world has seen, along with becoming the founder of the ACLU.

Among her most famous books is The Story of My Life, The World I Live In, The Open Door, and many others.

Helen Keller Life Quotes and Sayings

I slip back many times, I fall, I stand still, I run against the edge of hidden obstacles, I lose my temper and find it again and keep it better, I trudge on, I gain a little, I feel encouraged, I get more eager and climb higher and begin to see the widening horizon. Every struggle is a victory. One more effort and I reach the luminous cloud, the blue depths of the sky, the uplands of my desire.”

34. “The few own the many because they possess the means of livelihood of all … The country is governed by the richest, for the corporations, the bankers, the land speculators, and for the exploiters of labor. The majority of mankind are working people. So long as their fair demands – the ownership and control of their livelihoods – are set at naught, we can have neither men’s rights nor women’s rights. The majority of mankind is ground down by industrial oppression in order that the small remnant may live in ease.”
